Many thanks to Phil, Ahne, Tom and Steve for the fast replies to this.
Some good information about gerber / aperture files in there as well.
(I've actually used an old vector plotter in the past - almost remember
how to load the tape drive and initialise..)
 
I've tried loading it as an 'Eagle' file with no success. 
Unfortunately, I don't have the option in Camtastic to load it in the
Dassault Systemes format.
 
Looking at the file using wordpad, it is quite readable, and it may be
that the board fabricator may be able to use this to manually edit the
aperture list within their own CAM program.
