Yes we do have universal tooling, we have a Manix press and adjustable
tooling. But in the past, they were pre-tinning the parts and then cutting
and forming them. I that might be because when you first are confronted with
these parts, the tie bars give you a sense of false security in that they
prevent the leads from getting tweeked while tinning them...but without
thinking about the bridging you'll see during the tinning process. But one
needs to understand (like you said) it is a VERY tedious job  Thanks for the
great tip! Makes a lot of sense...

Looks like I might be buying lunch for few operators the next few days (so I
don't get lynched...hehehe)
