Hi Graham,

we are ambivalent as to LGAs and are therefore  testing just now. We have 
passed 10,000 cycles -40/+60 Celsius and got some indications from the daisy 
chains that there is something going on.Sonoscan shows some interrupts but 
we have not found out where yet. This very day I got a emergency call from a 
guy about LGAs. I don't have many details yet, but the issue is scaring: the 
LGAs have pushpulled so violently in the copper traces, that the copper has 
lifted from the board!! I'll be back with more details next week This was a 
MIL microwave board and the LGAs had just some 20 I/Os.  Why he used them? 
Because they are superior in all means to BGAs at 30-100 GHz.

Hello Technet!
One of our designers is advocating using a LGA component in a military
product.  Anyone out there doing it?  I'm wondering (worried) about the
reliability since it has a very low standoff.  And cleaning issues?
