Methinks someone who knows a little about shielding has become dangerous by specifying Mu metal for a cable and nobody checked the work.

Just saw an advert within the last few days for a shielded cable "designed for the Cold War, back in production" and it was intended for shielding the high EMP of a nuclear blast.  Don't remember the manufacturer or the publication it was printed in.

Mu metal looses its magnetic shielding properties when it is being
deformed.


I have a hard time imagining FLEXIBLE cable with a Mu metal shield,
unless
you do not need a lot of shielding.
