Pete,
I would suggest that it is not a matter of nationality so much as matter
of ability, and more specifically, a matter of competence.
Including the name, home address, and personal phone number, of every
engineer or designer related to the manufacture of a given product,
would go far in the attrition of the incompetent, and in insuring that
future products function properly in their intended use.
