Lunch 'n Learn Meeting of the Orange County chapter of the IPC Designers
Council
Topic: Via-in-Pad Technology
Design and fabrication techniques for increasing circuit routing
density
Date: Tuesday, November 16th, 2004
Time: 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
Where: Mentor Graphics office - Irvine Spectrum
Presentation by:
Gil White, Technical Marketing - Dynamic Details, Inc. (PCB fabricator)
Javier Jimenez, President - Dynamic Engineering services (PCB design)
Join us for an educational presentation on designing and fabricating PC
boards using Via-in-Pad technology. We will explore the benefits and costs
for employing microVias and other advanced HDI concepts. Gil White will
present the latest fabrication techniques used for creating HDI boards and
explain the various methods of fabricating laser drilled microVias, and
discuss the available via-filling processes for reliable Via-in-Pad
Technology. He will also introduce "Stacked" MicroVia Technology, which
provides access to multiple layers for increased routing density and
solutions for next generation products.
Javier Jimenez will present a designers perspective to share his experiences
with various design techniques using Via-in-Pad and microVias. He'll define
the routing advantages, signal integrity effects and other design
considerations and trade-offs when making the decision to employ this
density-enabling packaging technique.
Reserve a space on your calendar for Tuesday, November 16th from 11:30 to
1:30 for this educational meeting being held at Mentor Graphics' office in
Irvine (map and directions, attached).
