Are these Mictor connectors?

You can always place them in SMT, reflow and solder the through hole leads
during wave, if that process figures in the flow.

The issues we faced are:

Board thickness VS the through hole lead length. If the connectors are on
the secondary side, you place the connectors and then you go to print the
primary side, well, you have the leads protruding.

We addressed the issue in two ways:

Since we already placed the connectors, we pushed the through hole leads
back, using a flat piece of metal. Amp Mictor connectors let you do that.
Later in the process, we pushed them back into place and soldered them.

Later on we pre-trimmed the leads, so that they do not protrude and
processed the rest of the way normally.

If they are on the primary side, this issue does not exist. Pin-in-paste
does work.

Regards,
Lakshmi

Subject: [TN] High frequency connector / SMT / Through hole

Hello all

We have a new (at least new for me) connector type to assemble and rework.
It is a high frequency connector where the high frequency pins were SMT pins
and the shielding is through hole.
Any process recommendations for assembly and repair?

SMT / Pin in Paste ....

Best regards

Siggi
