Dear Mr. Falconer,
You can still get product approval as per US MIL-PRF-55110F (inactive for
new designs) for rigid PCBs.
You have to apply to Defense Supply Center, Columbus, OHIO and submit
samples to an approved test
house in USA for Qualification testing FOR THE TYPE OF MATERIAL you wish to
get approval. In to-days'
context getting qualified as per MIL-PRF-31032 is preferred which is a QML
approach rather than the earlier
QPL approach. However, the costs will be very high, as the Qualification
team of DSSC have to visit the facility
for a process audit based on the Company's Technical Review Board (TRB)
DOCUMENTARY evidences.

We are a UK based Printed Circuit Board manufacturer looking at the
possibility of obtaining Mil spec approval. can anyone help me with the
folllowing questions.
1. How do we go about obtaining mil spec approval. Who would we contact for
information.
2. Can you still obtain approval to MIL-P-50884 and MIL-P-55110, or have
these standrds been superseded.
