Steve, the process is still very much alive and well with us, in fact there are some things we wouldn't solder any other way.

You're right about the transfer fluids. We are using Galden HS240 and the current price is around £590 per 5kg. Overall running costs are pretty low though because the losses are not what they used to be in years gone by.
