Why do you feel you need to do your SMT in a clean room? What is/are
the driving forces behind this?

Subject: [TN] Clean Room Requirement
I've monitored the groups questions and answers closely for the
last year
and a half and recieved many
usefull pointers. I have not had a need to pose my own query
until now.
I've been tasked with evaluating the need change to a 'clean
room'
enviorment for our surface mount
assembly operation. We control temperature and humidity at
present. We
are a low volume house
that has been doing suface mount assembly for close to 10 years.
We do a
mixture of board
technologys, down to 15 mil pitch. We are planning some new
assemblies
using micro bga's.
I would appreciate any thoughts as well as actual practices from
this group.
Thank-you for your consideration
Phil
