Why do you feel you need to do your SMT in a clean room? What is/are the driving forces behind this? I have not had a need to pose my own query until now. I've been tasked with evaluating the need change to a 'clean room' enviorment for our surface mount assembly operation. We control temperature and humidity at present. We are a low volume house that has been doing suface mount assembly for close to 10 years. We do a mixture of board technologys, down to 15 mil pitch. We are planning some new assemblies using micro bga's. I would appreciate any thoughts as well as actual practices from this group. Thank-you for your consideration Phil ################################################################ TechNet E-Mail Forum provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8c ################################################################ To subscribe/unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the body: To subscribe: SUBSCRIBE TechNet <your full name> To unsubscribe: SIGNOFF TechNet ################################################################ Please visit IPC's web site (http://www.ipc.org) "On-Line Services" section for additional information.
