I was just thinking the same thing Ben. I would probably relate Technet more closely with Linked In though. They are both tools used by professionals to network, share information, find employment, and add humor to our days.
I am fairly new to LinkedIn, but just last night I had a long, pleasant phone conversation with a past associate that I had lost track of for over a decade. Through my LinkedIn network, I was able to re-connect and re-establish our relationship.
I did recently cancel my Facebook membership however. I was not pleased with the liberties taken with some of my privacy settings. I also have a pretty specific definition of "friend" which includes a willingness to take a bullet for someone, so that made my decision to leave pretty simple.
Best Regards,
Jeff

Brian,
You may not be on LinkedIN or Facebook, but you've been on TechNet for a while. The interface may not be as fancy, but it's basically the same thing. (Albeit with less social and more technical.)

I have neither friends nor am a friend of anyone. I have refused to participate in any so-called social networks from the word go-get. I may be missing something but I'll take that risk. Your 'friendship web' will therefore always be missing one person!
Maybe we should have a network for anti-networkers :-D
