Hi Paul,

A chelating type resin would be the best for heavy metals removal, but it is very expensive. Control of the pH level is important for selectivity, so be sure to request selectivity data at different pH levels. If you need more information on this part let me know and I will share my experiences. We are a small circuit board shop here in the Chicago area and we have a two-train ion exchange system plus a two-column deionizing system for making DI water from city water.

Two manufacturers whose resins I have used are:

Rohm and Haas

Pureolite Corp.
150 Monument Road
Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004
800-343-1500

Pureolite resin tends to be less expensive but seems to work equally well. I am currently using the Pureolite resin in all my columns.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Michael S. Owens
