Steve,

I think the delay is necessary. If this job were as important as it sounds,
the OEM should respond quickly. At the same time, if you go ahead and add
the adhesive and it is later rejected by the customer, the delay created to
correct the problem is much more significant and costly.

Thank you,
Paul Black

There's been some interesting responses! But I'd like to ask a question,
there's been a lot of "what if's" mentioned about having epoxy in between
the pads of the
no-pops, has this really ever caused anybody a problem?

My case was that the work order had already been kitted, we were setting-up,
and then we got an immediate ECO to not populate 20 locations. The stencil
was already made, and due to the locations, taping them off on the stencil
would've caused defects with the print...so I chose to print everything.

Again my question to those who think I should get permission first, would
you accept the delay in delivery by me waiting for you to say if it's okay
or not?

Again, in the fourteen years that I've been doing this, I don't know of any
issue that has arisen of having epoxy between the pads at un-used locations.

By-the-way, I tried my new polyimide stencil today, still not getting enough
height to contact the body of the JANTX diodes with the square
endcaps...back to the drawing board.

PS Brian, does this email have HTML? I'm not trying to use it...might be my
new version of AOL that I just loaded...
