Roger,

Why do your customers want to use contact cleaners/lubricants for IC
sockets?  Is there a specific problem they think they're having which they
think this material will solve?  I have used these materials only as
band-aids to help fix high insertion force and fretting corrosion issues
with IC sockets.  I say "band-aid" because they didn't address the root
cause of the problems, primarily incorrect socket selection, IC lead
material selection and board cleaning.

On other types of contacts/sockets, I think these types of materials are
fine.

Caig labs (http://www.caig.com) should be able to help you answer any
technical issues with their DeOxit product.
