I am also dealing with LCC's (tiny MMICS) and have
to put them down on a ground plane.  Do not want to
turn the bottom into a BGA.  Are there any other ways
to mount them? This is a (6) layer Rogers material board
and there is an active plane on the bottom.
You seem to have experience in this area.
