One thing you should not do is to publish
someone else's e-dress to large newsgroup.

Second, I don't know anything about Melissa,
except that you need appropriate software
to get rid of it.

Thirdly, SPAM. Ahhh, that's something I do
know a thing or two.

Suppose one gets lurid or even abusive email
from address [log in to unmask]

1. Remove the "abc" and create three new
   email addresses as follows -

   [log in to unmask]
   [log in to unmask]
   [log in to unmask]

2. DO NOT email the sender of the original email.
Usually the line that says something to the
effect that if you want to be removed, reply to
such-and-such and address is simply a ploy to
confirm your address so it can be sold to some
   other stupid spammer.

3. Put a BRIEF description of what happened with
all header info that you can get with a following
of the email in full. Brief because the webmaster
people don't have alot of time to wade through an
entire dissertation to find the stated problem.
Header info because that's how they can track people.
The body of the email for possible evidence.

4. Mail this out to the three new addresses and wait.

I've had quite a lot of luck with this technique.
