Fellow Technetters,
Does anyone out there have any good comparisons or stories about some of the new
solders on the market. I have been approached and am evaluating a couple of
different solders. I'm trying to see what the "long term" benefits would be.
Extra pure solders 4-9's are good for how long before you get what you had in
the first place? Phosphorous added solders are good for how long? Benefits,
downfalls??? They all offer a good deal to switch and back with a guarantee in
the initial stages in defect reductions and dross generations, but where will I
be a year from now? I currently use a standard grade of 63/37. Can anyone shed
any light on my delima?
