Mitch,
I always provide an IPC356 netlist to the fab house, however not all fab
houses can use it. As it turns out, the prototype fab house we use has a
verification software package called Royal Sceptor by Mentor Graphics. I
run a script which produced several ".rpt" files which they import for
gerber verification against my CAD netlist. There is one BIG PROBLEM!
This verification software cannot handle composites. I did not know this
and as a result the verification was not done and we did indeed get back a
bad board.
