We are organizing another Susquehanna Region Chapter (SRC) Designer Council
Meeting. Due to the late breaking nature of this meeting I don't have full
details yet. I wanted to get something out so that you could try to make
plans for the meeting. I'll follow this message up with another in a few
days when the final details are ironed out.

During the week of Oct 21 (We are shooting for Wednesday, but that may
change based upon speaker availability) the SRC will sponsor a meeting with
a speaker from EPTAC to discuss IPC-A-610.

IPC-A-610 is an assembly level specification that shows how components
should, and shouldn't, be assembled to a pwb. This specification describes
the quality of assembly, many aspects of which are dictated by the designer.

EPTAC is an acronym for Electronic Process Training & Consulting
Corporation. EPTAC is well known for the quality workshops and
certification training they provide to the electronics industry. We are
fortunate that they will have representatives in this area during the week
of Oct 21 putting on a training session. EPTAC representatives have agreed
to spend an evening discussing the IPC-A-610 specification with the SRC, its
members and guests.

On another Topic:
The SRC is looking for information of what YOU would like to see at upcoming
meetings.

Currently we have tentative meetings to discuss PWB Impedance Control, PWB
Assembly (and possibly a tour of a local assembly shop). Please forward any
ideas you may have to [log in to unmask]

In addition we have a number of members who are very interested in Designer
Certification.
