Greetings,

I received your two posts Robert, but no other mail on this subject, so
excuse me if I repeat something, ok? But in the first case you say:

My problem is that if I change my STANDARD TEXT STYLE font to to
drill.shx all text on existing drawings changes to drill symbols, if I leave
the STANDARD TEXT STYLE as txt.shx my drill symbols change to letters.

The solution to this is easy:

Copy <path>\VBPCB\CONFIS\VBPCB\FONT.RSC
To <path>\USTATION\WSMOD\DEFAULT\SYMB\PCBFONT.RSC

Your drills will look like symbols, and your text will look like text

In the second case it sounds like you are adding a font set called drill,
but I don't understand this:

This creates a text style in Autocad named DRILL with a font
named DRILL.SHX. I've created a font called in DRILL.SHX with the drill
symbols in it and it works smoothly.
I don't know much about fonts, but is this DRILL.SHX something that would be
the same for all Veribest users? (something you could send me if I beg you
for it, in other words?) Otherwise, I don't understand the last part of what
you did and I am stuck.

p.s. our "exploded" drawing files are HUGE, so I am very interested in this
subject!!!

Subject: [DC] SOLUTION TO VERIBEST TO AUTOCAD EXPORT

             Hi,
I would like to thank everyone who replied to my email on
Veribest to Autocad font translation. The winning solution goes "down
under" to Dale Rebgetz.
Dale's solution is to modify the the Microstation
dwgfont.tbl file located in the Ustation\tables\dwg directory. Add a line
with the name of the corresponding font in Autocad (in this case DRILL) and
the Veribest font numbert (120).
This creates a text style in Autocad named DRILL with a font
named DRILL.SHX. I've created a font called in DRILL.SHX with the drill
symbols in it and it works smoothly.
Using this method of drill symbol extraction cuts file sizes
dramatically (less than a quarter) compared to an "exploded" extraction.
Thanks again to all respondees and especially Dale.
