Fellow Cadnetix/VeriBest Designers,
We are in the process of converting over, and have a couple of issues we
could use a little help since we did not get an appropriate answer from
VeriBest we thought the design community could help.
1. Hardware items, in CDX we put hardware symbols on a last schematic
sheet that did not get plotted and had to have a shape for the board but
just did not get placed. Veribest has a category "Psuedo Comps" but this
does not seem to work well. I understand about the discards file, that
this will not put cells on the board but it does not seem to work when
we put all the other PDB items on it to show up in a parts list/bom. How
do we drive a parts list out of the board design/schematic in other
words puts a part number description and qty on a bom but no cell is
placed on the board.
2.Metric Cad database;  also in this process we thought it might be a
good time to bite this bullet. Our next gen. system requirements are
mostly all in metric. How are people handling this. Did you have all
your databases in metric in Cadnetix, did you do a change as you
converted, did you stay in Inches in Veribest or what???? What is the
impact of doing all new cells in metric, keeping local libraries just
for converted boards??? Or will the conversion of an inches CDX board
work going over to metric cells in Veribest??
I also sent to VeriBest Users Group hoping for help there too.
