If you use the RS-274X Gerber format your aperture list will be embedded in the
spool files. When we send a board out to be fabricated, we send the spool
files for all applicable electrical layers, solder screen and soldermask, a
drill file using the Excellon format and a readme file defining the Gerber
files and any additional information required to generate the artwork.

My guess would be that CAD package soesn't matter but I'm sure if I'm wrong,
one of our techno-wizards can and will correct me. I'm still new at all of
this and our fellow TechNetters are a wonderful source of information. If only
they wouldn't use $10 words when a 50¢ one will do. ;-)
