When we send a board out to be fabricated, we send the spool files for all applicable electrical layers, solder screen and soldermask, a drill file using the Excellon format and a readme file defining the Gerber files and any additional information required to generate the artwork. > Is there any real importance to specify > to use certain cad package like allegro, > etc? or this what we have to decide to > standardize the gerber? My guess would be that CAD package soesn't matter but I'm sure if I'm wrong, one of our techno-wizards can and will correct me. I'm still new at all of this and our fellow TechNetters are a wonderful source of information. If only they wouldn't use $10 words when a 50¢ one will do. ;-) JoAnn L.
