Hi Werner,

To clarify a point on the SOT23 leadframe alloy. All
SOT23 packages are not necessarily Alloy 42.

Historically, eutectic die attach was used, for which A42
was the preferred material. More recently, copper alloys
are being used, with epoxy die attach, primarily for their
improved thermal conductivity.

The end user who is more concerned about the alloy composition,
can easily check whether it is an A42 or Cu alloy by taking a unit,
snipping a lead and looking at the cross-section. If its a copper colour
guess what, - its copper, if its a silver colour its A42.
Just be careful to use a decent pair of snips as otherwise you
may smear the solder plating over the cross section and assume a copper
alloy is A42, as the smeared solder plating will give a silver appearance.

regards,
