'CAF' stands for Conductive Anodic Filament and it is basically the term used 
for the formation of a conductive pass, usually along a glass fiber, that leads 
to a failure.

Bring me up to speed here.  What does CAF stand for?  As used here talking
about the polyamide failures topic of the week,

"This failure sounds like the "CAF" failure studied by Bell Labs in the late
70's and early 80's."
