Yes, it must be. But if he is giving you a name, then _he_ is a newbie.

Assuming you are enough of an expert to used NetScape or another WWW
browser, try some of my favorites:

http://www.thomasregister.com/  (you will need to "subscribe")
http://www.smtnet.com/dirhome.html

To find if the subject company has a web page of their own (many do) do a
web search for the company name at:

http://www.altavista.digital.com/  (the mightiest search engine on the web)

There are others, but this ought to give you a good start. If this won't
find them; they are just too obscure.
