I would expect problems reflowing in and old vertical HASL machine:
Oil reflow is generally done by heating the board in two steps to
prevent thermal shock,
warping and delamination. Using the HASL to do the dipping only allows
one oil tank.
One reason for plated/fused solder is the solder thickness is often
specified to be
thicker than that obtainable by HASL. To keep the solder from sagging
the panel
must be horizontal.
If you use the air to blow off excess solder expect dewetting problems
due to the intermetallic
formed between the plated solder and the copper.

Hello there !
We have strange idea to perform vertical Hot Oil Reflow . We have an old
,
vertical HAL . The idea is to fill it with oil, heat up to 210-230
centigrade
and to perform reflow with or without air blow. Does anyone tried it ?
