Hi Andy - I have some stuff in my files which I'll send you once I get to the office (first part of today is a Rockwell Roadshow where we feed LN2 frozen marsh mellows to students and other fun science stuff!). Do a search for Wally Bader's classic dissolution work - its for tin/lead and not tin but it would give you a pretty good first order estimate. Also look in the American Welding Society (AWS) Soldering Handbook - I believe Paul Vianco has data in that reference. Is there a specific noble metal of interest?

A wise man (wise guy, AKA George) used to always carry two things: an IKEA measuring tape and a great chart showing this data.
I’ve searched Wikigooglepedia and have been through my 2006 CRC handbook (Phys and Chem) and several solid state texts.
