Hi William,
I noticed you mentioned dreaming and envisioning a future where prototype
PCB's can be printed directly in the classroom; turns out, your dream is
already becoming a reality!
This successfully Kickstarter-funded company from Australia called
Cartesian Co. is in the process of making a 3D circuit board printer for
the masses, called the EX1, due to release in mid-2014. It is designed to
print on a variety of different substrates typically not associated with
PCBs, such as fabric, glass, paper, and wood! The software is also supposed
to be very easy to use, supporting standard image files that can even be
created in Microsoft Paint. You can check it out and follow it's progress

I know that we definitely found it intriguing, and are anxiously awaiting
the arrival of our very own!
