IPC-4412B规范涵盖了精纺平纹玻璃纤维线的分类和要求，这些纤维线是由电子级（“E”）玻璃细丝组成。简单来说，这些“E”玻璃细丝也就是金属氧化物在融化时形成的硼硅玻璃。规范中的玻璃纤维有两种描述方式，一类是SI公制单位，另一类是英制单位。新版规范替代IPC-4412A的三个修订本1，2，3。

《用于印制板的无电镀镍／浸金（ENIG）电镀规范》
该规范包括全彩图片，为使用ENIG电镀的印制板表面处理设定了要求，包括基于性能标准的ENIG沉积厚度要求。为供应商、制板商、EMS厂商及OEM厂商提供了规范性指导。附录中还包括一篇由George Milad和Gerard O’Brien合著的免费技术论文——《无电镀镍浸金的标准开发成果》。ENIG 板表面处理是无电镀镍层 上覆盖一薄层浸金，浸金是用于保护下面的镍层氧化和钝化。这种表面处理 方法，适用于焊接、铝线互连、压片连接等连接点表面处理。附录1&2用于超薄浸金规范指导（最薄可达0.04微米）。超薄浸金仅用于导通孔焊接的电气连接。规范中还定义了ENIG 表面处理印制板的返工/返修原则。
