Brian,

   Thanks for sharing your comments.   I would like some sort of official standard are document stated the permissible plating scheme for press fit connectors.   As others have stated that the hole drill size is critical.   I have also notice different designs of press fit pins eyelids and at different depth with regards to the shank length.   I have measured the Ni thickness on several different vendor connector and all with different thickness.   One print di confirm tin over plated with nickel but not thickness criteria.

I would expect the retention force to be low with the Ni to Ni interface along with the cracking issue previously mentioned.
