I have still questions about fine sand and dust on conformal coated
boards. We have boards spread around the world, some in regions with
sand storms, as I've mentioned in earlier mails. Anyone who knows how
the guys do in Iraq, to mention one example? Sand must be creeping in
everywhere. Do the guys take out the boards and brush off the sand, or
do they just let the sand be there? In theory, sand is oftenly silicon
and quarts products, and as such, sand on coated boards should not be a
problem, because the particles are nearly 'insulators'. There seem to be
various opinions. Some take out the boards regularly and clean them,
others mean that the sand does not harm. Would be interesting to hear
any experienced voice in this forum.
