Jack-

So you're attempting to design a connector using a PLCC52 socket? I've
done it with a similar package. It is definitely non-standard and even
kind of delicate, but it can be done:

One side of the interconnect gets a PLCC52 socket which has been
thinned slightly and has had its orientation key destroyed. The other
side gets a PLCC52 dummy component--I think those are available from
dummy component suppliers, but I made mine from a PLCC52 which I
"neutered" with a grinding tool. The socket will go upside down onto
the "neutered" part, so it is real easy to screw up the pinout.

Needless to say, it would be better to have a properly designed 52 pin
connector! Why would you want to do this? My excuse is that I was in a
ridiculous hurry (overnight timeframe).

Greetings,

I want to design a little test board, and somehow connect it
to a PLCC52 footprint of an existing design.

What I want to know is:
What is the 52-pin piece that I solder to the existing board
and connect to my test board?
I thought it was called an interposer, but I'm gettin' no hits.

Does anyone know where I can get some kinda socket
dealie-mabob that will fit a PLCC52?

Jack
