Ioan,
My quick method of PTH hole sizing for is nominally .010-.024 larger than nominal lead diameter.  You will uncover these numbers in the design specs.  I believe the shall nots are NOT LESS THAN .006 over lead diameter and NOT MORE THAN .028 over lead.

The .064 lead requires a large PTH requiring tolerance of +/-.004 or even .005; hence PTH .076 nominal PTH I wouldn't go over .080 nom dia.  Check with your assy folks preference.

  Hi,

  I have a TH cap that has 0.064" diameter pins and 0.089" diameter holes. Are the holes properly designed?

  I have skimmed IPC-2221 and IPC-D-279, but cannot find any formula for calculating the diameter of the hole from the pin diameter. Where can I find such formula?
