PCB Design Engineer/PCB Designer

Utilitek Systems, Inc. specializes in using Mentor Graphics Software to 
design high performance, high quality, technically challenging boards. 
We are seeking a talented and dedicated professional to fill a fulltime 
position in our Vestal, NY office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all levels of 
complexity in circuit board design using Mentor Graphics BoardStation 
RE. Applicant must possess a thorough understanding of board design and 
fabrication processes. Duties include, but are not limited to, schematic 
capture, circuit placement and routing, and documentation of the board 
layout as well as quality control functions.

We are looking for a designer with the following background and experience:

· High level of proficiency with Mentor Graphics BoardStation RE and/or 
Expedition.
· Minimum Associates degree in applied science or equivalent technical 
certification and experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· 3+ years printed circuit design layout experience.
· Ability to design circuit boards at any level of complexity with 
minimal supervision.
· Knowledge and experience with design techniques for controlling EMI, 
crosstalk, controlled impedance and DFM.
· Able to follow defined guidelines and processes to complete tasks as 
well as provide feedback to improve processes.
· Aptitude with basic Windows computer software programs and operating 
systems.
· Knowledge of the PC/Windows environment is required; knowledge of Unix 
and/or Linux is a plus.
· Programming skills with AMPLE, C, C++ or VB desired.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Self-starter, highly motivated, and have excellent organization skills.
· Superior attention to detail and quality in your work is critical. 
Ability to maintain quality while multi-tasking is essential.
· Must be able to work in close cooperation with mechanical and 
electrical engineers to identify and resolve issues.
· Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
