John,

The use of the word legitimate in quotations was to emphasise that there are
exemptions in due process for consideration at this moment in the current
round of consultations. It was not intended as a comment on your application
for exemption and I apologise if it came over that way.

Best Regards

Allen

AS they say the truth will out.

On the subject of "exemption collapse" let's face it a directive which
needed a whole bunch of industry specific exemptions for lead-free solder
use is on fairly shaky ground to start with.....

I am merely using the system provided for public input by the stated end
dates of May 15th 2006 as may anyone on this list.

And I actually do not like the assumed "non legitimate application for
exemption" note.

I have merely provided supporting material which lets face it should have
been taken into account at the outset of the lawmaking process as "due
diligence"

Kind regards,

John

John,

I am politically neutral in this argument and these issues do need to be
aired albeit belatedly. However, people need to think carefully about
applying/supporting exemptions as this may result in the delaying of
"legitimate" applications for exemptions if not the collapse of the whole
exemption system.

ENV:Directive 2002/95 EC - Fifth Stakeholder Consultation

I have provided supporting documentation for the applications noted below on
environmental grounds. Each application has been addressed separately in the
attached documentation. The file lfs-lca-final.pdf containing Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) report Solders in Electronics: A Life-Cycle
Assessment (472 pages) August 2006 submitted as evidence to support this
documentation.

I have included the document EC Check list.pdf as an example of the
applications that the TAC committee has turned down before but point out
that in the light of the new evidence put forward here that each and every
one of these support documents should be considered in it's own right using
the lfs-lca-final.pdf as documentary support.
