Hello,

if you read the complete article, it is very clear (at least to me):

*****
Article 3
Definitions
(a)
... and designed for use with a voltage rating not exceeding 1000 volts for alternating current and 1500 volts for direct current;
*****

"designed for use" states in my opinion , that all EEE running below 1000V AC or 1500V DC is covered by the directive

I've also verified this with the german version of the ROHS text. There is more or less stated, that all EEE is covered which are designed to run with a voltage of ....

Betreff: [LF] Question of Scope for high-voltage devices

I want to make sure I correctly understand the scope of RoHS.

According to Article 3(a), if a device I market operates at or above 1000vac or 1500vdc, then that device is outside the scope of RoHS. It does not matter if the high-voltage circuit is an input voltage, an output voltage, or a voltage strictly internal to the device. Is this correct?
