TechNetters,
I have re-read part of IPC/JEDEC J-STD-003A because of a question I was
asked. There was a section confusing one of our engineers and he asked
me to look a tit. I have and now I am confused! So I am asking for your
help.

Section 4.1.2.1 says you can reset the floor life clock for MSL 2-4
parts by drying 5x an exposure time less than 12 hours. Got it.

The note in the section seems to indicate that for times greater than 12
hours but less than the exposure limit of the component, the clock can
at least be stopped by drying as mentioned earlier in the section (dry
pack of < 10% RH cabinet)FOR MSL 2-3.

Section 4.1.2.2 says you can reset the floor life clock for MSL 5 & 5a
parts by drying 10x an exposure time less than 8 hours by dry bagging or
< 5% RH dry cabinet.

WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR MSL 4??!!

REGARDS,
Bev
RIM
