Back when we were in the wave solder business we had a solder pot start leaking. It was still under warranty so the manufacturer came to our facility and emptied the pot. I couldn't believe it but he used a ladle and "Paper" soup bowls. They were the thick ones especially designed for soup and not the plastic foam ones but paper. He only ran the pot temperature up to a little above molten. Low and behold they worked great! He filled them about 2/3's full and they set up into really nice ingots that we could reuse.

Might be worth a try.
