We have installed over head as well as bench ionizers.   The overhead ones
are pricey but are turned on when the bench lights are turned on. This way
they are not ignored or forgotten.

We've found that naked operators sitting on metal stools works pretty
good. We keep about 1" of water on the floor just to make sure that the
stools make good contact ;-) We have found that the high voltage test
people aren't real crazy about this arrangement!

Actually, I've never heard of seats being grounded as a requirement. Work
stations that are properly grounded and operators that are properly
connected with a wrist strap should be the basic requirement. Other
situations may require other preventative measures like air ionizers but
on an as required basis.
