Unless I'm mistaken the forum is currently wanting to find some common
mark to apply to finished complete products to identify they are RoHS
compliant.
So, if you read the scope of JESD97 it says:
NOTE The Pb-free labelling of electronic systems, such as computers,
printers, servers, etc, is outside the scope of this standard.
It goes on to say it is only intended to cover the issue of Pb-f and
does not cover or relate to the other hazardous substances restricted
under RoHs.
So no cigar for that standard.
IPC-1066 does not get the cigar either as again in the scope it says:
This standard shall apply to all electronic components
including passives, connectors, solid-state components and
other devices that use solder to attach the device/
component to the board or assembly.
Regards,
Chris
