First of all the directives are not only lead free directives. As a
matter of fact lead free solder is only a fraction of the RoHS and
similar . Secondly the EU directive covers only the electronic
equipment, not its process. How the production has to be one is
regulated in the dedicated standards that deal with health and security
at the workplace and environmental issues. In Switzerland it is all in
one directive and I don't know whether this is a good solution. You
search a good deal around to find what might affect you and you're never
sure whether you missed something or not.
