          Hi Saravanan:
Remember the size of the antenna dishes a few years ago? As the frequency increases the wavelength decreases, so the need for larger devices. It also has to do with the ability to make transistors smaller. It is possible to place several million electronic components in a single chip the size of a thumb nail now.
        Regards,
        Ramon

Subject: [TN] Relation between physical size and frequency??

Hi,
Could some one explain me quantitatively why the physical size of an
electronic chip reduce in size as the operating frequency increases. I
remember the P2 processor is conspicuously bigger than the latest P4
processor. What is the reason behind?

Regards,
Saravanan.K
