I have experimented with solder wave temperature in an effort to reduce
dross and maintainance. But discovered that lower temperatures also
(with our flux) reduced solder bridges and yielded brighter joints. Too
cool caused reduces vertical fill. I found that in our process, with
most boards the best results were around 250C. Little was gained by
increasing the temp to 250 but it did increase the amound of dross
formed. Going higher increased dross increased bridging, and produced
solder peaks on some components.
