Steve, I know that GPD (General Production Devices) made a vaccum sealing
system the would purge the bag with Nitogen and them pull the vacuum.   Not
real cheap if i remember right but did the job when it came to sealing.
And if you did the right thing when opening the bag you could reuse it over
and over till it became to small to use.   Try there web site

Really? How come the sealed components that I get from the manufacturer
always has a pouch of dessicant and a humidity indicator card in it?

 You don't put a dessicant in a vacuum sealed bag, do you? The vacuum
 will slowly suck out that beautifully adsorbed moisture: pfloook! Then
 these molecules will float around, all over your components, which will
 swallow them up like gangbusters. IMHO, one, t'other but not both,
 vacuum and dessicant.
