THE PROGRAM
The presentation will focus on Lean Manufacturing methods. This will cover
the aspects of overproduction, waste of inventory, processing, manpower,
motion and transportation. He will outline
the training and methods to implement a pull oriented system, how to
overcome objections and be successful in the endeavor.

A brief speaker bio for Stephen Mihalick, a consultant, is available on our
web site at http://www.ema-wa.org/nextmtg.htm.

THE TOUR
The meeting will be hosted by National Industrial Concepts, Inc. which is
the largest precision sheet metal fabricator in the Pacific Northwest.
National Industrial Concepts, Inc. (NIC) is
the new name for three very well known and respected local companies:
Northwest Manufacturing of Redmond, 3D Manufacturing of Bothell and Linton
Industries in Lynnwood Washington. The three companies were brought together
under common ownership and management during the last 2-4 years.

In the spring of 2001 NIC combined its Northwest and 3D operation into a new
custom design, 100,000 SF, building in Woodinville. This move afforded them
the luxury of starting with a fresh sheet
of paper in both how they wanted to lay out their equipment and how to
address their manufacturing processes. NIC is now free to fully embrace a
"Lean" philosophy in their manufacturing processes. There will be a
definitive tie-in between the presentation and the company tour. NIC will
demonstrate the application of Lean processes that are presented by Stephen.
