Michael,
Given the size of the Minipak, it is not unreasonable to have the preheater
at such a high temp. Preheater temperature is a function enregy emitted
(IR, convection, etc.) length of heated zone and conveyor speed.
If you profile your Mini' just as you would profile your reflow oven, you
can see if 600° F is obtaining the desired temperature on the assembly.
Have a great day.

Subject: [TN] Electrovert Minipak 300
Hey all,
I anyone using an Electrovert Minipak 300 wave soldering machine???
I have
one we use occasionally for smaller products/prototyping for various
customers, and I am keen on finding out the average pre-heater
temperatures
people are using. I have only recently descovered, that ours is set
at
around 600 degrees F. This seems very high to me, does anyone have
any
comments???
Cheers
