Hello Jim,
In my own experince, in not necesary to wash the PCB before apply a
conformal coating (otherwise you're using a washable flux), only be careful
if you are using a flux with visible flux residues or if you don't
activated enough your flux.
If you are applying a conformal coating UV curable, heat produced by UV
oven could actived your flux residues and have delaminations of your
conformal.
I hope this advice could be useful for you,
Regards,
Mario.

Hi,
Do boards have to be cleaned before you apply conformal coating? Does it
depend on what type of flux is used? Example would be no-clean flux, you
can apply conformal coating over it right?
Thanks,
Jim
