Hi, I know that an IST test can be performed on an ENIG finish board, and I
know it stands for Interconnect Stress Test. I also know that it involves
current pulses for the purpose of thermal cycles on the PCB.
What I want to know is, what is the purpose of it? What does it tell you
about the PCB?

Also, I wanted to know what type of tape is used to perform a tape test on
an ENIG board to check for black pads. We just got some sample boards of
ENIG finish and want to perform some in house tests. We normally get HASL
finish on all our PCB's but realize that the industry is slowly moving
towards other finishes in order to, amongst other reasons, get rid of
lead. So to be proactive we are starting to evaluate alternatives.

Thanks for your time.
